I went to a military academy located in SC during high school, and graduated in '09. I am also disabled and yet I attended with a missing left arm and a partially developed right hand due to birth defects from Chernobyl in Ukraine. I enjoyed my time there and did not feel sorry for myself, but desired to give it my all with physical training by performing one arm push-ups as an example. However, due to my physical limits I was not able to attend a military college nor serve in the Army like I had dreamed of doing when I was a boy. My spirit, mind, and heart still embodies the warrior ethos and began a journey of introspection to search and find true character and faith through times of adversity. Since I could not physically attend a prestigious military institution, perhaps I would write a story about a cadet that started as a new cadet to end up leading the corps of cadets as its commander. This character would embody the lessons I learned about Character Development, but also embodying Communication, Leadership, and Performance Development as well. I identify five key pillars to one's character: spiritual, intellectual, mental, emotional, and physical. I desire to be at my best, especially at my lowest point, but never giving up nor giving in because my fighting spirit drives me onward and upward.
